OptionBug Privacy Policy

Terms of Use

Effective August 25, 2026. OptionBug is pre-launch software; these terms cover the waitlist, paper-trading beta, and the service as it launches.

The short version. OptionBug is software you run against your own brokerage account. It is not investment advice, we never hold your money, and you are responsible for every trade it places under the rules you chose. Options trading involves substantial risk of loss.

1. Who we are and what this is

"OptionBug," "we," and "us" mean the operator of optionbug.com (the "Service"). The Service is rules-based options trading software: you connect a brokerage account you own, choose a strategy and its settings, and the software places and manages orders in that account according to those rules. By creating an account or joining the waitlist you agree to these Terms.

2. Not investment advice; no adviser relationship

OptionBug is a software platform. We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or financial planner, and nothing on the Service — including strategy descriptions, defaults, examples, or paper-trading results — is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, or a recommendation to buy or sell any security or to use any particular strategy. You alone decide whether to run a strategy, which settings to use, and whether to keep it running. Consult a licensed financial advisor before trading.

3. Risk

Options trading involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for all investors. You can lose more than your initial investment. Automated strategies can place orders quickly and repeatedly, including while you are not watching. Paper-trading results do not represent real trading, are not typical, and are not a guarantee or prediction of future performance. Past performance is not indicative of future results.

4. Your brokerage account and credentials

5. Your responsibilities

6. Availability; no guarantee of execution

We aim to keep the Service running during market hours but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, order placement, fills, prices, or market data accuracy. Brokers, exchanges, data providers, networks, and our own servers can fail or be delayed. It is your responsibility to check your brokerage account directly and to close or manage positions yourself if the Service is unavailable.

7. Fees

The beta and any free tier cost nothing. Paid subscription tiers, when offered, are billed through our payment processor at the price shown at checkout; card details are held by the processor, never by us. We earn money from subscriptions only — not from your trades, order flow, or data.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, OptionBug and its operators are not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service, from any order it placed or failed to place, or from any broker, exchange, data, or network failure. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the subscription fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind.

9. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time; disconnect the Service from your broker as well. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that we reasonably believe put other clients, brokers, or the Service at risk. Sections 2, 3, 8, and 10 survive termination.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these Terms; material changes will be announced on the Service or by email, and continued use after the effective date is acceptance. These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which OptionBug's operator is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
